So I got my second chicken pox shot yesterday ($91 for each dose wtf), and they threw in a free polio shot as well. Free is cool, and if I go overseas I guess I'll have a head start! Anyway, my arm hurts like hell, and it's all red and raised up where the shots were. This happened when I got the first shot, so I'm not worried, but it's still a ( Read more... )

I had it as a kid, actually! So I was pretty shocked when the lab results said I had no immunity to it.

Was it mild? I've heard if you have had a mild case you can get it again. Also, does the vaccine protect you from shingles as well?

That was probably the case since it's the only thing my mother, the nurses, and I can figure.

I don't think it protects against shingles, but you might want to call someone up about that. I know they do administer a separate shingles vaccine...

I...DK. It should? It depends I guess if you've developed immunity to it. It gets bad in adults apparently so if you haven't had it, and if you haven't had the shot, then you could get it.
