Ha. I've been waiting for this little bit of news to pop up for a month or two now.  I switched out of comp. sci. after my first semester, and even I was leary of the iPhone's public Wi-Fi connections as a point of vulnerability to hackers. It's amusing to see my hunch vindicated.  I find this even more amusing, that the constrictions on the iPhone
