Due to gerrymandering some time ago, probably two or three demographic shifts past (right now I'm blocks from Little Saigon, city within a city within a city), I live in a part of a city that is long and thin, tucked like a pencil between the bulk of LA County and Huntington Beach. I'm glad you're managing to share some fun and laughter with your family. In the end, these are the important things.

I don't have very good filters. If I watched the news all day, it would overwhelm me, so I just read about Covid-19 in New Scientist once a week, to get an overall picture of what is known and what I should be doing. The rest of the time, I'd rather my brain was filled with cherry blossom and birdsong and escapist Asian drama.

Just started watching Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty on Viki - quite lighthearted, and the first two episodes seemed promising...
