30 Sentences: Conrad and Yuuri
This is my first entry in KKM fiction. The prompts were found with a random word generator, and the sentences range from sappy to cute to sap again. Rated PG. Contains some spoilers.
#1 - Listen
Wolfram yelled, Gwendal frowned, Gunter worried, Murata joked, and Cheri comforted… but Conrad listened.
#2 - Disagree
The negotiations were going better than expected, even if Conrad constantly had to remind his king that “I respectfully disagree” was a far better choice of words than “that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”
#3 - Parting
It killed Conrad to say it, but telling Yuuri they would be enemies when next they met was the only thing keeping him in line and from squeezing his king to his chest and never letting go.
#4- Hopes
Conrad spoke to the soul in its little jar, knowing full well that it couldn’t speak back, but wishing it to grow up happy and safe anyway.
#5 - Ambiguous
Yuuri could never quite decipher all of Conrad’s smiles - whether they were friendly or amorous, he appreciated them anyway.
#6- Traces
A few days later, Yuuri was still trying to conceal the numerous love bites Conrad had left on his neck.

Conrad was momentarily shoved aside as Gunter fluttered around Yuuri, inquiring as to how Heika was and how there was so much work to do, and the soldier could only offer the teen a helpless shrug.

“Out of all the Mazoku leaders I’ve met, you are by far the greatest,” the diplomat gushed, making Yuuri turn bright red and Conrad appreciate just how far the young king had come.

Part of Conrad would always see that giggling baby in the park offering him a toy, but he was increasingly aware of how the king was maturing, and just how alluring he was becoming.

Conrad rushed over to the bottom of the cliff, just barely catching Yuuri and clutching him tightly until his heart stopped pounding.

Yuuri had a math test in 10 minutes, but after getting sucked into the teacher’s fish tank and looking up to see Conrad’s smiling face, he decided the day had taken a turn for the better.

Conrad’s Japanese had been a little rusty at first, but with some practice he was speaking almost as well as a native, which Yuuri found amazing since they kept getting distracted during their lessons.

If it hadn’t been for a crowd of thousands of screaming people and they hadn’t been in the middle of a tournament in a stadium, Yuuri wouldn’t have been able to contain himself upon seeing that Conrad was alive and well.

Conrad had never felt so used; he’d betrayed his king and country, raised a sword against Yuuri and made him cry, all so some damn boxes would fall into the hands of evil.

It was actually Conrad who had to keep putting the brakes on the relationship; Yuuri was a little too eager for his own good.

He and Conrad were just enjoying a nice walk around the palace grounds; next thing he knew, he was running for his life from Anissina and her latest “breakthrough.”

It was apparent that Yuuri was nothing like Julia had been, but that definitely wasn’t a bad thing, Conrad thought as he found himself being willingly dragged off for another game of catch.

Conrad had been the person who’d most helped Yuuri get used to living in Shin Makoku and he didn’t know how to thank him… hopefully, that kiss was good enough.

Conrad found and then joined Yuuri in the closet, wrapping an arm loosely around him while they waited out another one of Wolfram’s rampages.

Yuuri lay on the ground, exhausted from running laps, and when Conrad stopped to rest next to him, the teen fell asleep on his bodyguard’s chest.

‘Open mouth, insert foot,’ Yuuri thought miserably, watching Wolfram’s retreating back, suddenly regretting sharing the plans he and Conrad had for today with the youngest brother.

“I stick out like a sore thumb,” Yuuri complained, realizing he was the only person with black hair and eyes in the crowd; Conrad just smiled to keep from reminding the king that he was the one who’d chosen to forgo his usual disguise today.

The symbol for justice crashed down on the terrified soldiers and the Maou collapsed into Conrad’s arms, relishing the warmth and comfort before passing out.

Conrad was the only person that Yuuri insisted call him by name; “Heika” from Conrad’s mouth sounded far too proper and impersonal for his taste.

Every time Yuuri found another odd custom of Shin Makoku’s royalty, he went and got Conrad and together they found a way to reword it so that no one in the future would make the same mistakes that the teen had.

Conrad had to go on patrol at Shin Makoku’s southern border and Yuuri had never felt further from him, even when he had been on Earth.

Everyone in the castle had their own version of how it happened, but the maids were probably the most accurate: His Majesty had blushed and stuttered, Sir Weller had smiled and nodded, and now they all had another wedding to plan.
