checking in... psa update

Sep 13, 2005 21:07

Hey, am not dead, RL has just been so busy lately. I can't seem to find a balance between fandom and RL anymore, I am either obsessed with fics and working constantly (unhealthily) on PSA, or I am stearing well clear of it all. I am a bit sick of swinging back and forth, a nice balance in the middle would be good, if I could just find out how to ( Read more... )

Whee for being near me! Okay, not a whole lot near me, but 4 hours away is closer than Canberra *smooches* It will be the Ultimate Sleep-Over.

And yes on the black layout. I love black layouts. :)

It's good to see you're alive. ;p And that you'll be in the same hemisphere as me in time. I'll either have to try and go to Canada and see you, or maybe you can swing by New York. (I've wanted to go to Australia for some time, but it's just ridiculous and I am poor!)

Glad to hear things are well with you, and hope they continue that way. Y' know, maybe if you just get some volunteers to do the fic finding, editing and coding, you won't have to give the PSA up at all. You'll have your break time, but your baby'll still be yours.

PhD sounds like fun. What is it with Canada stealing all our students? All the Geo people that I know have either gone to work in WA, or to study in Canada...

I bumped into another person from the Tassie fieldtrip, too - the guy from Deakin. His girlfriend brought him along to a tai chi class ;)

Oh, and happy birthday for today, too :)

Ben! omg Hello! How are you? What are you up to?

Oh really? There are melbournians in Canada? That's very cool :) What else is over there for Geo's? While I'm looking forward to starting my PhD, there's also some "what the hell am I thinking?!" too. I'm looking forward to getting away from the depressing Aussie politics though.

Thanks for the birthday wishes ♥

I think the Melbourne people over there are doing geomatics projects - not sure exactly which part of Canada they ended up in, though.

Canada sounds like a good place to go for research... it's close to all the North American researchers, without having to suffer through too much of the USA politics. Plus (interesting from my perspective... maybe not for anyone else) there are seven new diamond mines up in the tundra. Canada will overtake South Africa in gross diamond production in the next few years ( ... )

*hugs*

Happy birthday, baby! :D

And I'm so excited for you (the PhD program thing). Carbonates! :D How exciting! :) Though wow, Australia to Canada... what a long, fun move. Nowhere near me, of course, but then, in a month or so, I won't be near anyone. Not in fandom. Haha.

I completely understand the weird fandom moodswing thing. :| I do the exact same thing. I go for a week like crazy, with lots of art and checking of my f-list, then I just stop for, like, a month. :( :( :( So, I miss out on all sorts of things, and feel bad for not keeping in touch with people I like and adore. Woe.

And a black layout could be fun. The one right now is gorgeous, of course, too. :) ♥

Hey sweetie! Gah, sorry for taking so long to reply, I did get your birthday wishes on the day *loveslovesloves*

I am excited too! I can't wait to move across the world and do something totally different. Oh, what's happening in a month? Where are you going?

And Virginia is at least on the same continent! hehe I think I'll be doing a round trip of the US to meet Anise (Carolina or Virginia? can't remember) and out to Colorado to meet another of my friends.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with fandom moodswings. It sucks. I totally understand feeling bad about not keeping in touch with people :(

I will try a black layout I think. Also, do you want me to redo your layout? I can make you something new?

♥♥

*so much love* Your art is so so gorgeous, as soon as I saw the Radiance comic I was so inspired. But then I had to wait to get Photoshop, gah, but it came today! and look what I made: http://glassesreflect.net/stuff/jinn2/draft1.htm... )
