I just wanted to say hi to a few new people on my flist. I friended you because of your House analyses, House fic and/or Wilson/RSL!squee, and I will get around to reviewing some wonderful fic that I've come across, very soon :)
I have had a few days since first watching ‘Spin’, and I’ve had time to calm down and analyse it somewhat, specifically Wilson’s confessions and the House/Wilson implications.
Let me first say: RSL saying “you’d be surprised what you can live with” and his bittersweet smile and wet eyes absolutely kills me *rewatchesx100*
While I see nothing that contradicts that Wilson would be talking about House, thinking and believing that it is House may just be my looking through slash-coloured glasses and seeing what I want to see. But I read in a recent interview of one of the writers for the show, that everything they put in or leave out is always intentional, so I’m taking that as a good sign. As

here, “if the House/Wilson subtext isn't there intentionally, the writers must be the most naive people ever.”
I find it interesting that Wilson only talks about “someone” rather than several people in the second speech, when he clearly says “I always told them” in the first speech. So that makes me think there is one person he’s cheated numerous times with. He does say though, in the second speech “My wife wasn’t dying, etc”, which could mean there were numerous people, but there is only one worth mentioning/talking about. Seeing as there are only two things that work for him, his job and his friendship with House (Babies and Bathwater), I find it hard to believe there is/was someone else important enough. As the writers are very intentional, I don’t think they would make reference to someone that we have not been introduced to (so if it’s someone we know, the only one other than House that fits for me is Stacy, and I really don’t want to go there, and I really hope the show doesn’t).
He does say “I met someone…”, and seeing as he’s known House for years, he’s either not talking about House, or he is and this has been going on since they met (which makes me very happy).
I’m not sure what I think about the whole confessing to Cameron thing. Why would he share something like that with her? I like to think that he just needed to tell someone, and it’s something he couldn’t share with House because it’s obviously about him, and they don’t talk about things like that *g* I find it strange that Wilson’s only friend is House (as far as I can tell). It makes more sense with House, but I would expect Wilson to have lots more friends.
I rewatched ‘Detox’ yesterday, and in the scene with the masseuse, Wilson says something like: “the ‘I’m married and I can’t do anything about it’ logic!” and he sounds so frustrated, hehe. But put this next to his first speech in ‘Spin’, where it is implied that Wilson has cheated at least three times, if you count all his wives, it doesn’t really add up. This could mean 1) the writers aren’t much for continuity (though they seem to be ok with character continuity), 2), Wilson is just outwardly showing he is not open to cheating or 3) Wilson has somehow justified cheating with House, but not cheating with others :D
Haha also in ‘Detox’, Wilson checking out the clinic patient with the tumour on her ovary just reinforces my belief that Wilson has very poor self control. Same goes for him failing to stop himself checking out Cuddy’s breasts in one of the episodes (eep, can’t remember which one) ♥
Anyway, back to ‘Spin’. I totally loved the cafeteria scene, very interesting for the character interactions and very funny. Wilson saying “yes, yes, I’m with you so far” absolutely cracked me up, just something about the way RSL says it. And the gorgeous little non-smile Wilson gives when House does the brilliant “Heeey, you’re talking about me aren’t you?” bit. I thought that Wilson was particularly frustrated/pissed off with House this episode, more so than normal. Some of his looks are cold, and all the digs about his drug habit. I think House’s Stacy obsession was really getting to him (jealousy perhaps?). I do often wonder why Wilson puts up with so much shit from House, seriously.
And, like others have mentioned, I too believe Wilson is either living in his office or spending as much time as possible there to avoid going home. Aw.
And bisexual!Wilson just makes my brain implode.
