Finished "Song of Susannah" this weekend. Kind of a bummer at the end. I had hyped myself all up for the big fight at the Dixie Pig since they kept going on and on about how this will probably be Jake and Callahan's last stand. And then... nothing

I actually kinda saw that coming. Come on!!! it's the final book before the conclusion of a 7 book series!!! Of course it's gonna end in a huge cliffhanger!!!

Though it was a great setup.

Yeah. Ka-tet is torn asunder, with all their fates uncertain.

I was reading some forums this morning, and they made a reference to the incomplete ka-tet. Namely, with all this focus on prime numbers, and how Stephen King took the 7 Samurai/Magnificant Seven... how there should be a final 7 members.

So.... Roland, Eddie, Jake, Susannah, Oy, Callahan. One more in book 7, maybe? Or since Callahan's not a true gunslinger... maybe he dies and 2 more come in??

Anyway, I'm going to be really cruel to Rebecca.

You know how we spoke of Allie, and how in the remake, Walter planted a trap in her mind, and how the grass eater would recall the secrets of the afterlife in his head, and all she had to do was say the word 19, and it would drive her mad?

Reb is going through the DT faster than she'd like (she's in the wolves, and at this rate, she's going to be done with song before the final book comes out). Well i'm going to print out the prologue, and fold it and half, and give it to her, and tell her "you can have this. You can either resist the urge to read it, or you can read it before the final book, and make waiting even worse."
