I could understand why you felt the urge to run. I often feel that urge too and also do act on it. Unfortunately my neighbourhood isn't as silent as yours and most times I have to stop running because people start staring at me as if I'm crazy (oh, if they would just know the truth, they would stop staring and hide instead. xD)
The night-swim sounded lovely. I never swam at night but thanks to your article I think it might definitely something I might enjoy doing myself. Also I´m a "frostbite" as we say in Germany and I´m not very good in handling anything cold (except for ice cream, of course) the whole scene sounded really peaceful and quiet.
As for the cell phone...
I remember that you told me about that little accident in a mail and I still can feel your pain.
