I'm going to take a guess that it comes down to two things.

a) Ron is very tall, and it's a matter of proportion.
and b) Fen are often size queens when you get down to it, and they just want someone to have a gigantic penis, which is where point a comes into play.

Personally I blame/credit Emma Grant, who wrote - wasn't it the sequel to "Left My Heart" where Ron is larger than life, married to Hermione and Harry is in love with him? Or was it another Emma Grant fic? Anyway, because of that Ron will always be associated with a large package to me. I am more than willing to read a fic where he's a normal height and cock size, though - bring it on!

Lol. Has Emma done it too? Its a very popular belief amongst the H/D authors, for sure. I think the fact that he's a bit dumb often leads people to think he's a bit of a gorilla, and has an appendage to match :P (Hang on a minute... do gorillas have large ....? - er, no. I don't want to think about that)

Ha, no doesn't bear thinking about.

Ron was anything but dumb in Emma's fic - he was a "huge" hero. ("Surrender the Grey" was the "Left My Heart" sequel that I think I'm referring to). I wonder what the first H/D fic was that featured hung-like-a-horse Ron?

Then there is Maya's Drop Dead Gorgeous where Pansy takes up with Ron partly because he's "extremely well endowed". And they lived happily ever after. ROFL!

That fic was definitely after Emma's though.
