as a first name. Think about it. I just ran across 4 people whose first name is Guadalupe. I find their full name kinda clunky, but their nickname, Lupe, gives my heart little explosions-inside-a-pillow.

Edit: It's not about the name Lupe. It's about how familiar, how intimate saying it feels. This is true of a lot of shortenings/nicknames. I love
