Just be sure that you are ramping up your mileage gradually and doing the appropriate amount of stretching to keep your body in balance. Running is tough on your body, and you will feel the cumulative effects down the road if you don't take care of yourself.
I've been stretching for 10 minutes before/10 minutes after for the jumping jacks, and it seemed an appropriate amount of stretching for the jog. Should I spend longer, you think?
I definitely don't want to be adding a mile on every day with this. The jumping jacks have only worked because I've enjoyed them, and spent 3 weeks at one goal before raising it by 50. At this point, I'm not even sure if I'll be doing it every day, instead maybe just several times per week. Though it did feel so good last night, I may try to keep up with it at that pace. But no worry, I sincerely doubt my abilities to jog more than 2 miles. That shit was bonkers.
There are some schools of thought that you shouldn't stretch beforehand, because it weakens the muscles, but 10 minutes afterward should be fine. The biggest thing to watch for iswhen something is out of balance, like one side is stronger than the other or your hamstrings are beefing up at the expense of your quads.
