Sigh

Seems the bit with Paul Bettany playing Lord Asriel in "The Golden Compass" was all premature anticipation. According to Variety and Dark Horizons, the role goes to Daniel Craig instead. IMDB still lists Paul.

Aaah. Woe, if it be true. But Craig isn't a bad choice either, as far is I can tell. He has a nice voice as well. ^_^

Wir sind gerade dabei einen jungen Herrn namens andyknopp ein wenig zu ärgern. Wir veranstalten einen kleinen flashmob. Alleridngs macht es zu zweit zu wenig Spass. Einfach 1-2 unsinnige Kommentare hinterlassen. (Es soll nicht zu gross werden:)

...Daniel Craig is the last person I would have thought of for the role of Asriel while reading. Where is the the darkness, the majesty, the intimidation, that mix of menace and fascinating aura? It certainly isn't in Daniel Craig. Having a nice voice isn't a great thing to have for that kinda character either, IMHO.

Honestly, is there even a role that Danny fits in? Obviously it wasn't 007 either...

I try to see good in him until I actually see the movie. People were screaming their heads off before LOTR came out and it didn't turn out too shabby either.

My comment about his voice was not to be taken seriously and directed at certain people who failed to respond. Fact is, I have never SEEN Daniel Craig in any film, I have only heard his voice. I frankly don't know if he packs a whallop or chews the gutter.

Huh. Didn't peg you for having read that book. As far as cool revelations go, this is pretty up there. ^_^

Of course it's not really fair to blame Craig for things he hasn't even done yet. But there are certain castings that just make no sense, and this one has just that feeling on it. I wouldn't want Eddie Murphy to voice Patalaimon either, to give an extreme example.
Nicole Kidman on the other side is a pretty good cast for her role, albeit she isn't a top-notch actress and I usually can't stand her. (Honestly, who can?) But dye her hair black and with her natural icy chilly emotionless thingy she ist pretty much the perfect Ms. Coulter.

Whoa, the link! I'm Sir Thank-a-lot! And hooked on a feeling, of course.
