We live in a world with a million things happening all the time and where personal interaction is neither nurtured nor valued. I wouldn't take it personally. It's hard to stay thoughtful and connected in the modern world, it takes a lot of effort and determination. But I think it's a good thing that you can see how devastating it can be when we lose connection with the ones we love. It can make us appreciate our time with them even more and it can make us go out of our way to stay connected to them in a uniquely comprehensive way (easier said than done sometimes). As long as you determine to live your life how you want, and obviously that would include thoughtful interactions with people, others will follow. Others will learn to value your conversation because it will be focused instead of distracted. It's like that take-over-the-world-guy said, when you see something of true value, it stands out, because in today's world you can hardly ever find anything of real value. So keep your interactions strong, forget those who aren't ( ... )
