I draw very rarely and I suck at anatomy. I had to take photos of myself with a webcam to do the hands and so on. I can't draw without reference. It takes too much time and I'm not very confident in it.
Oh well I know it takes a lot of time (BTW I put myself in front of a mirror for taking references or there is a site here http://posemaniacs.com/ that helps all the drawers ^_-) but maybe drawing can give you more satisfaction?
Oohhh, pretty! *_* It's been ages since I've read The Silmarillion. Well, tried to read, that is. XD Couldn't get into it for some reason. Maybe I should give it another try, it's a great story, after all. :)
well, it's best to skip the beginning, the whole Ainulindae and start with Quenta Silmarillion. There really are some amazing stories in the book.
EVen though after Christopher Tolkien put it together after his father's death from all the different drafts and published it he realized that some things were rethought during the years and so some stuff in it shouldn't be canon. So he published The History of Middle Earth books where all the versions are put together. I have some of them too. For example, in the Silmarillion Fingon (the dark haired dude in my picture) has a son, but in tHoME I found out that it was just a passing thought and Tolkien made him another dude's son in later versions of the story.
It is, nevertheless, my favourite book. And I return to read some passages from it every year. Also there are a few really slashable characters. Oh the manly love among brothers in arms. And quotes like: "If I stayed beside you, love would lead me, not wisdom"
