ive never experienced someone else's fears becoming mine.. quite weird and frightening.

im homesick. i need a cure. badly.

finished two AWESOME books for the summer, thus far:

1) eat, pray & love by elizabeth gilbert (thank you kelly!)
2) left to tell by immaculee Ilibagiza (thank you diana cho, bawled my eyes out).

now off to read..

3) dreams of my father by barack obama (thank you pearly).

one thing i love about my community is that we are a very ancestral base community in terms of religion, generation/traditions, language and culture is passed down through the elders to youngsters.. we even dont have written format for our spoken language because its a combination of dialects and language from the mid-eastern etc. very unique. i ended this semester on a really good note.. i have successfully completed my first year of graduate school on a GREAT note. im looking forward to this summer.. not being stressed out, being able to relax and breathe. but the funny thing about that- the serenity and calmness of summer.. brings to light the turmoil from within. my turmoil... the past 2 months have been a whirlwind of school, work, school, internship, work, school, work, internship and more work. nothing short of graduate school workload.. and my respect and admiration for those who are in Ph.D programs, and those who have full time jobs or children at home and going to school full time- has gone up. all the more ( Read more... )
