Very pretty and good tutorial! :)

I'm learning how to make icons (unfortunately, I'm very PS7 illiterate...hahaha), so, um, yeah. How do you make the borders in the end? And how do you know what textures, gradients, brushes, etc. to use? Or do you just fool around with textures (and so on), which is what I do...^^

Thank you. :)

Yup, it's all about experimentation. Which basically boils down to me opening various textures, thinking "oooh, I wonder what this will look over , with this setting..." and it all congealed together into sometimes good, and sometimes (MANY times) bad results. XD; But yeah, just experiment with different settings, different colours, that sort of thing.

And to get the border, I just used the select tool (top left of the tool pallete) to draw a rectangle three pixels wide and as wide/long as the icon, and filled it with white, repeating for all four sides. If that makes sense, let me know if it's confusing. PS7 can be a tricky little beast sometimes. ^_^;

But I hope that helps you!

Hahaha, I see. I love experimenting because it's fun.

Ah, so that's how you make borders? Lol I never knew. Or you could use a border brush, right?

Awesome, thanks for the help. :D
