Daiki wondered why was he awake in the middle of the night and looking down his balcony. No, he wonders why did he even bother to wake up when some pebbles hit his room floor, which cause him to go to the balcony to see who did it, only to find his boyfriend on the street right under his balcony with a guitar in his hand.
He should have went back to his bed right away, but no, his stupid heart that always clashes with his smart brain decided that he should be rooted to his balcony and listen to Takaki reading some lines which was ripped right out of Romeo & Juliet while strumming his guitar, in English.
“O Daiki, Daiki! Wherefore art thou Daiki?”
Jreng!!
“Deny thy father and refuse thy name;”
Jreng! Jreng!
“Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,”
Jreng! Jreng! Jreng!!!
“And I’ll no longer be a Capulet.”
In times like this, Daiki often wonders how did Takaki became his boyfriend in the first place. Gripping his balcony railing, Daiki glared down at his boyfriend and he swears that if he has a pail of water at the moment, he would definitely throw it at Takaki.
“Why are you here in such and ungodly hour Takaki?” He hissed, but loud enough for the older man to hear. Being waken up in the middle of his beauty sleep was never good for Daiki, especially not after a long day of work.
Takaki smiled brightly at him, “Happy Valentine Day Dai-chan!!!” He said out loud, and Daiki was sure that the neighbors heard it. See, the dogs already starts barking.
After placing his forehead on his palm for a minute, Daiki looked back at Takaki and rolled his eyes. “First, Thank you. Second, if you want to wish me happy val day, I would appreciate it more if you didn’t do it in the middle of the night. Third, that was Juliet’s line!!! I should be the one saying it, no, that’s not what I meant, I don’t want to say it what I meant was- aaarrgghh!!! Whatever! And fourth, you are a TAKAKI, not a Capulet. And why the hell would I deny my father’s name?? It’s not like we are in a forbidden relationship.”
Daiki take in a breath after he finished his rant, but almost regret it immediately when he saw Takaki’s crushed face and puppy dog’s eyes.
“Sorryy...” Takaki said, with his head down like a kicked puppy. And Daiki doesn’t have the heart to see him like that; it made him wants to hugs his boyfriend in a tight hug, no matter how idiotic Takaki could be sometimes.
“Dai-chan?” Takaki calls out to him when he looks up and saw no one at the balcony. He sighs and was about to drag his guitar and himself away from the house when the gate suddenly opens, and the next thing he knew, he was being dragged into the house.
“Next time you want to wish me happy valentine day or whatever day,” Daiki told him as he dragged Takaki to his room and pushes him onto his bed. “I prefer it if you do it like this.” He straddled Takaki’s lap and made his point clear by kissing Takaki hard and deep.
Takaki agrees that it was the best way too.
