Secondly, as much as it may hurt/be weird, I doubt there is anything you can do to shield Mia from the weird that is elementary school girls. Just let her know that home is safe, that anyone who's got half a brain thinks she is cool and that saometimes it is going to suck. I was in a similar situation until about eighth grade. I had a few friends, but overall the girls just got me down. Unfortunately I never got the sense from my parents that those girls were wrong which made everything a million times worse because I couldn't tell them about it. I know you do this already, I just wanted to make you feel better about not being able to do much!
Also, good luck with school. Your stories about it are inspiring to lame old me.
