I have eight hundred million things to do.  Really.  Actually, I have a lot of end of term stuff to finish up and it’s the regular stuff.  I have to have three papers done.  One is already turned in.  For better or for worse (for worse), it’s in the box.  I have a draft down of another, and there’s another that I’ve barely cracked.  I have marking ( Read more... )

I hate, hate, hate end of term stuff. And I don't even have to deal with back-talking grade complainers.

We miss you. I hope the party is a blast, and that we will see you soon.

Jen

P.S. Happy belated!

I miss you too. Why has it been like a year since I've seen you? Too long!

you are brave and generous -- i'd cancel the party for sure. (in fact, that is my advice, if you still can)

after i finished my essays i was a wreck from sleep deprivation and stress. i went to a party held by a person as brave and generous as yourself who had cleaned (!) her apartment and baked (!) two kinds of cookies for the occasion.

i had fallen asleep in my clothes for an hour before going and realized once there that i smelled like b.o. and probably like dog (smudge sleeps in my bed) because i hadn't changed my sheets in two weeks because of ESSAYs.

which is to say, that even if you get you and yours ready, any students who show up will smell.

ha.

that's not the point. the point is merely me hijacking your comments again with a sad personal anecdote.

good luck, you can make it, you will do it, it will hurt, but then you will have a soft landing methinks.

Aw, thanks for the sweetness. The party’s a go and I only wish you could attend. I expect fifty or so people to make their way through. I did clean my apartment, but I did not bake. So there!
