Hey there! Glad to hear that things with your mom are going well. You all are in my prayers.

I recommend The Lovely Bones and Eragon. Bones is very, very well-written, albeit very sad and freaky at points. This is only natural since it's about a serial killer from the perspective of one of his victims. I cried really, really hard in many parts of the book, but it's very beautifully written. Eragon reminds me a lot of a cross between the Harry Potter books and The Hobbit. I'm only just starting it, but I really like what I've read so far.
