Okay - as promised, an update. I have no idea how long it will be though b/c the boy is on his third (!?!?) nap of the day and could awaken at any moment.
Me - school ended on an upbeat. My class this year was amazing. I loved the kids, I loved the parents and I was truely sad to see them heading on to middle school. Some of you will remember that was so _NOT_ the case with the class from last year. Several of the parents from this year's class came up to me at the promotion breakfast to tell me what an amazing year the kids had had and that they were sorry I got such a bad rap from the last year's class. A few even told me they'd ended friendships with parents from last year b/c of some stuff they were saying about me (???). The only thing I know for a fact that is going around the middle school is the rumor that my husband and I are getting a divorce. I've been doing my best to squelch that one and am so paranoid, I won't even go check the mailbox without making sure my rings are on. I've lost all the baby weight - I'm now 2 lbs lighter than I was when I had the boy. But, I'm fatter. Go figure. I don't know how that's possible.
I'm looking forward to a summer spent with my son - watching him discover new and wonderful things. Hopefully watching him learn to walk, talk and continue amazing me and Chris every day. I kept him at daycare last week so I could get some house stuff done and I got a shit ton done. My study has now been converted to a guest room/study complete with queen size bed. The main floor of the house is presentable enough that I won't mind if my MIL decides to drop by unannounced. Anthony's room and bathroom received a cleaning/reorganizing. The only major house-cleaning projects left are the laundry and the basement. We're also in the market for a grill and some actual furniture for our living room. Both things we'd like to accomplish before Anthony's birthday party. The only one which will get accomplished though is the grill - we HAVE to do that since we're having people over for a barbecue.
Anthony is . . .
- officially crawling, no more army crawl for this one
- going up the stairs (and occasionally throwing himself down the three little stairs from our bedroom)
- pulling up on any and everything
- walking using his little walker toy
- babbling like there's no tomorrow
- eating the occasional table food in fact, he's no longer a vegetarian (he loves chicken)
- refusing to eat anything other than purees for the most part
- laughing when he hears other people laughing (including people on the TV/radio)
- growling after daddy does
- ignoring the word "no"
- a complete and utter joy
Chris is still looking for a new job. He's realizing every day that his son is an amazing, wonderful little person as opposed to a blob. We both need to lose some major weight so we're going to try walking every day from now on.
I know I promised pictures, but I don't have time to upload them to Photobucket. And, since Anthony is still sleeping (despite the scream I just heard from his room) I'm going to go read for a little while.
