My cat Neko is EVIL!

Dec 13, 2007 10:28

I'm so upset! My cat Neko decided to hide on me this morning. He didn't come for breakfast, he didn't come for treats (its 10am and he hasn't eaten!). I searched the house from top to bottom, I even went outside shaking a bag of treats (which I was forced to give to two black cats and a tabby who came running when they heard the bag shaking.). hope he's feeling okay. i'm sure it's nothing. maybe he just saw all the snow and decided it was time to slumber (i'm assuming that there was snow there like there is here, of course)...just make sure he weasn't chewed on any pointsettia's as they're poison to kitties.

He ate a bit, but not very much. I think he must have a cold. We've had non stop snow for weeks here. The last storm was a few weeks ago though -- we just have a light fall at the moment.

Poinsettias are not poisonous -- that is a wives tail, a myth. There was a botanist a few years ago that went on a talk show and proved that poinsettias were not toxic by eating some leaves himself. Cats might eat them to help them process hairballs and therefore throw up, but this would happen with any plant not just poinsettias. My cat Mila enjoys eating her salad -- most of my house plants, including poinsettias are half mauled, but she is just fine. Believe me, I do not bring ANY plant into the house if it is toxic, I love my fluffies too much.

I learn something new every day. I was at a house party last weekend and that wives tale was being passed around so I didn't know that it was not true. Sorry.

oh wow. it's always scary when they pull a trick like that. i live in an apartment, and one time i heard meowing out in the hall that sounded just like my cat. ran out (in my nighty, i might add) to find the little bugger down the hall meowing in front of the neighbor's door! lucky i heard him. he got out when my sister came home and she never saw him go.

later the neighbor's cat got out and came meowing in front of our door, lol.

I hope he's alright and I'm glad you found him. I do find it funny that three other cats came for the treats though. :)
