This was actually an e-mail that I sent to 3 of my friends that I don't get to see ever because they're out of town/state. I'm cross-posting to save the history of it ( Read more... )

'Growing apart' always sounds like such a bullshit reason to break up...until it happens to you and you think "wow, OK, yeah, now I see it." That was Di and I, in a nutshell: for all that we had a lot in common, we were headed in different ways, and it just got old.

Here's to progress!

People always say that you should stick it out, things will get better with time! But we only have so much time on this planet. I want to be with someone who will experience it with me. It sounds selfish, and it IS selfish, but sometimes you have to make the hard decisions. And it sounds like you are better off for your decision :) Your lady sounds like a keeper!

Cheers!

I enjoyed reading this... I feel like even though it was meant for close friends I got to know you a little more. I'm glad you gave Brian a chance to "do" something to make a difference. Shame he blew it and lost a good thing.

As you know on my end I was never given that respect, so I appreciate the fact you had that kind of communication going on.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've enjoyed getting to know you better as you have begun to communicate more on LJ and FB. You have such a creative style that I truly admire. I'm looking forward to finally making my house MY home once all of the stuff has been purged from Brian and my son. I will FINALLY not have white walls :)

Yes, I know your situation and that's just a shitty thing to do. I would never do that to anyone. No one deserves that...

Somehow, I missed this when you posted it. Just wanted to let you know that I'm wishing the best for you at your appointment today. Also glad to read that things are going so well for you and Jon. It's a wonderful thing to be with someone who shares your interests or who is willing to explore your differences -- congratulations. :-)

I will FINALLY not have white walls

I can't take them, either -- too much color in the world.
