#1 Take lysine 1gm daily,

#2 apply tea tree oil at the first sign of tingling...

#3 avoid acidic foods and alot of direct sunlight...

#4 get lots of sleep ..

and of course during a breakout, you are careful not to touch/scratch/spread them?

If you are getting 2 a month AND the lysine doesn't help, yiou might ask your MD about some medication to reduce the occurence. But usually the lysine is very helpful. ;)

Good luck :)

Where are you btw?

I first heard about tea tree oil in Australia, it wasn't common here then, but now it is.

Yup = definitely the lysine.

Also nat mur - a homeopathic remedy you can get in health food places - although this is a deterrant - it doesnt really act muh during a breakout.

Having your own towel during a breakout and remember to change pillowcases, towels and toothbrushes as soon as they begin to heal up.

I hate coldsores - just gotten rid of my fourth in five weeks. Bless the low sunlight and beginnings of autumn (sic)...:)
