hey, what's up, fellow future rochesterian (?)? you were on the rochester forum once and listed mountain goats, yes? ive only heard 'we shall all be healed', and it's truly awesome. but i hear the older ones are better. so what's your top pick of obtainable albums from those goats?
The trick word there, sir, is "obtainable." I don't know where you live, but it's impossible to find anything by the Goats around here. That leaves me, at least, with iTunes, which has a very limited selection, of which Tallahassee is almost certainly your best bet. If you have a better method of obtaining your albums, I'd suggest trying to lay your hands on The Coroner's Gambit. I have yet to hear anything of theirs that I don't like, but their best songs are scattered across various albums spanning many years, and many of those older albums are entirely unobtainable. Single-wise, "Going to Georgia" is classic, and if you manage anywhere to come across "Going to Maryland," you should send it my way. I'll trade you my soul.
P.S. I think most critics would have you buy The Sunset Tree... so there's always that, too, if you want to listen to those buggers. The Coroner's Gambit is still my favorite, though, and we all know I'm the only critic that counts.
Cool, thanks a lot. I haven't found them in any record shops around here, so I guess my best chance is bittorrent. Wait, I just checked and no one seems to have it-- no that I would expect them to. I guess I'll Amazon Gambit, even though I'll simply be helping them dominate the world. Oh Well. Bye, and thank you.
