Stuck on a plane. Oh halp.

Left on Oct. 2, lost a day, thus combining the 2nd & 3rd. Much hostile ramblings ahead.

Flew on Japan Air Lines, which was a lot better than United, even if it was 3-3-3 seating. Even if I was stuck by the window for the whole way. And not sitting next to my uncle. I think he was on the opposite side of the plane. I sat next to Ed, & his wife Arleen, who were also on the tour. Very nice people.

The Good:
Hello leg room.
JAL gives you real honest utensils for eating food.
The inflight pouch I bought from Timbuk2 actually does fit - it holds a lot of toys of distraction.

The Bad:
Sat next to the turbine the whole way, glad I brought those sound-isolating earbuds.
It was 10.5 hour flight. No, it was not a direct flight. SFO to Narita, take connection to Itami (Osaka).

This does not include the insanity of finding one's suitcase after going through Immigration procedures, then searching for the domestic flight check-in.

I'm glad my suitcase is not black, but rather this hideous green/olive/red/pink flower pattern. It's still hideous.

Narita to Itami was another 1.5 hours, then we landed in Osaka, to meet our tour guide, who told it was another hour by bus to our hotel in Kyoto. WTF.

Checked into the hotel, Kyoto Hotel Okura, which was a really good hotel. Shitty location, more on that later. Suppose I got spoiled by the one in Tennoji.
