Mi Casa Es Su Casa!

Okay, a while ago ran outside and took a few pictures of my house. Sorry for the poor quality. I took them with my new camera phone just as the sun was about to set. I'll take better photos another time.

Now keep in mind, it definitely needs some work. (And a very sheer happy gardener.) But, there's still a bit of magic in ye ole gal.

wow, some snazzy digs you got there! it's really a cool-looking place

isn't it a tad early for Pride? I'm used to it (mostly) happening in June - why did they bump things up a month?

Hmm, I don't know.

I'll try and ask someone tomorrow at the parade.

i'm really bad with geography. where is your place? that's exactly how ancient japanese/chinese mansions look like.

I'm in Long Beach, CA.

Sorry the pictures are really bad. And there's so many trees in the way, you can hardly see anything. (We sooo need a gardener.)

The Japanese influences really stand out more in the back yard and inside of the house. I know that a lot of the stuff that went into building and furnishing it was shipped straight from Japan, like the granite water basins and the special light fixtures.

And then there's the small rock gardens and the koi fish pond with the bridge and the Torii gate and... It goes on and on. The owner even made a little dog house in the shape of a temple!

Let me see if I can find the pictures of the old blueprints that were online. If I can, I'll post them.

i'm from cali, too! up north in a little town called stockton. absolutely nothing inspiring at all about stockton, so i'm constantly looking for a seaside escape to write. your house is beautiful, very unique. you don't see that kind of architect around often.

Wow. It is definitely unique and has a lot of character. I can see why people are entranced by it and why shows/movies would want to shoot there. I can see some interesting architectural details in the pics that I am sure is a 1000x more amazing in person.

Oh man, that place is beautiful! I'm playing a show in Long Beach next month, and I looooove Japanese-style houses and gardens. I'm totally gonna stroll by your house. (I promise not to smoke a joint on your porch, though.)

:)
