I think going on reality TV and telling the world about your sexual relationship with your car is more weird than the actual sex!
Nice story (thumbs up)

Did you see the follow up on him on Dr. Phil?

I've actually never seen My Strange Addiction. I just knew it existed b/c my mom once told me about it. It popped into my mind when I tried to imagine a weird show H&W might like. Then I googled it and found the ep with a car named Chase, and that sealed it!

Thanks so much for reading!

It's great to see more scenes from their road trip! I really like the way you highlight that Wilson isn't sure how he's supposed to be behaving.

I love the image of Wilson on the back of House's bike and House telling him not to let go.

Chiming in to say I totally agree with this comment.

Not that I'm complaining about watching HL and RSL wearing leather and riding motorcycles! Not for a second! But sometimes more is better. :)

Thank you for reading! And when the subject is House/Wilson/leather/riding, I fully concur that more is better ;)

Perfection! There's humor and poignancy, and the promise of something more. I loved that you touched upon their need to normalize.

Some of my favorite lines:
He looked at Wilson, who just smiled as he gazed down at his boots. “No, really,” House tried again. “Actually having sex would be less gay than this.”

he’d claimed his skin was chafing from the wind and leather and constant sarcasm.

“I want you to…to just drink your drink and hang out with me,” he said finally, internally cringing. “I want you to not get beat up by the Hanks Williams clan …I want to not worry about you.”

“We’d never do this at home,” Wilson added sleepily.

I was wondering if you used a real restaurant--cool! No doubt House and Wilson would adore My Strange Addictions, but it squicks me out.

Superb job! Thank you. *mems*

A mem? Thank so much -- I'm glad you liked it :)

I've actually never seen that addiction show, but my mom once told me how disgusted she was by an episode she caught. Of course, I immediately thought of it when trying to imagine a show H/W would watch!

I never saw an episode of MSA but caught a commercial. This woman was... I can't even repeat it.

If she was drinking...something, it was the one my mom saw!

This is wonderfully painful. Wilson and House both so lost, looking for a temporary normal, knowing they can't keep whatever they find.

And it's funny, and so in-character. <3

Thanks so much! I was a little worried the painful part wouldn't show through all the jokey-ness. But one thing I love about humor is that is so often has sadness/pain behind it (that sounds morbid, doesn't it?)

p.s. I read your story right after I posted this, and at first I thought, "Oh no, another story where they share a hotel bed." But then I realized there can never be enough of that ;)

It is my firm belief that yes, there can never be too much of House and Wilson in the same bed; and also, given the nature of their road trip -- both the places they'll often stay and the reasons they're doing it in the first place -- this sleeping arrangement will happen.

The tone of this is so right. House doing his best to be the pillar, by mocking Wilson's dorkiness and his stupid coconut-head, and by keeping him from utterly self-destructing in that bar or overachieving himself into an even earlier grave.

Damn! The guy with the car named Chase...I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! No giggling for me - full on belly laugh!

"He just wanted him to be Wilson. And not stop." This just about broke my heart, however. How much longer will Wilson still BE? *sniff*

Wonderful fic! Thank you. *mem*
