Oh my god. You have their voices and mannerisms down so well, I could have been watching this as some long lost episode. I'm so glad you continued Virginia is for Lovers.

Their argument about Wilson getting chemo was gorgeous and brilliant. I'm glad it wasn't resolved right there. Beautiful job! I really hope you do continue.

Thanks so much for your kind comments :)

I'm glad you're glad it wasn't resolved ;) I didn't want to -- I don't think it should be easy. (Oh, and I don't know how to resolve it!)

Oh, that was so good! It's too early for me to be really coherent but it was a great read. I love the description of House's panic attack (the wierd hands on him that weren't Wilson) and all the feelings on both side about what the hell they're doing out there on the road, and House feeling odd without his usual routine and his usual people (this is the man who apparently hates change after all). And the hotel, and the odd way Wilson put his head on House's shoulder :) And really the whole thing - you paint a great scene and I can just see them there on the tour, with House's snarky comments and Wilson appearing mortified but secretly laughing along with House. I had tears in my eyes by the end.

“Everyone knows Shaggy wore the leash in that relationship.” Lol - so true! Wilson is definitely in charge here - who could resist those 'I'm dying of cancer' eyes :)

Thanks a lot!

Exactly. As happy as I was that House and Wilson were taking off together at the end of the series, I can't imagine they would just start having a grand old time, no worries.

I have the opposite problem to menolly, it's getting late here and my brain is turning into a pumpkin. But this was absolutely marvelous. The banter and the love. Love is schwer, Rilke would say, and it oppresses House's chest in this fic. Their behavior and suffering was so IC I want to carve this fic in stone and bang it on David Shore's head car ( ... )

Thank you so much for your comments!

I love Rilke. I actually haven't read Letters in quite some time. But I was recently reading some of his poems, and remembered how much I loved his Letters. You speak German as well? Wow.

I have, in recent years, witnessed culottes in middle America. But I don't if they're still sold, or if a lot of women were just still wearing the same clothes they bought 20 years ago.

I'm glad you liked the little taste of Savannah. I've been there quite a few times because I had friends who went to the art college there, and my brother lived there for a time. It's a unique little city and really beautiful in parts. But very rundown and not-too-safe in others.

I'm married to a German so learning the language was kind of necessary. Except I started learning German years before I met him, just because I like foreign languages the way women in Sex and the City like shoes :).

I also haven't read the Letters in a long time but they were very important to me at a point were I was unsure about my life choices. I should make sure they're around the house again once my children approach the end of high school.

If you ever want to learn German, you'll find it very easy having English as native language. Especially if you take my approach of blissfully ignoring grammar :).

My sister-in-law is from Italy and speaks English, German and French, and she tells me the same thing. But I keep insisting that I want to learn Italian and French because they sound so much prettier.

Another story that is not only fun to read, but "feels right". I especially like the slow way in which the unspoken things that are haunting each of them, and both of them, are rising to the surface. This stuff does have to be dealt with; they can't go on living in a traveling bubble this way. But it's hard and it hurts, so the avoidance is natural -- and very realistically portrayed!

Thank you!

I like the way you phrase it: living in a traveling bubble. They would likely try that for a while, but...bubbles burst.

Thanks for reading :)

I absolutely love their conversation at night in the inn. So moving!

"I want you to change your mind because you actually want to live longer. With me."

House's outburst on the tour is wonderfully affecting and in character, too.

I latch onto the most emotional parts, but the places you have them going and the things you have them doing provide a wonderful setting for that emotion!

Thank you! I'm glad you thought House's outburst was IC, because it's one of the parts of the story I wasn't sure about.

Thanks again for reading :)
