$%!!@@@!...And I mean that as a compliment! You were so nice to that woman. If it were me, I might have had to quit in order to avoid thrusting eye-daggers into her.
It's funny. but just the other day* I was thinking about how House's behavior can be perceived so differently by others. Like, the misunderstood wobbie vs shin-hitting prankster. What specifically came to mind was that dead hooker-patient House raised from the dead to scare the pants off Foreman and Taub.
But on a happier note, I ♥ your review. I saw RSL at Selected Shorts west and have the photo of the empty stage to prove it. lol. However, your description of RSL is so complete I feel like I could see him. The way he communicates with the audience is so adorable.
You hit the jackpot with RSL reading two selections and hosting. I wonder if someone dropped out at the last minute? Quinto was lovely bonus, and I like the Twilight Zone theme. Sounds very well done.
Thanks so much for your review. It's great to have something to read at this time of seemingly little going on in the life of RSL, (at least as far as we know).
Seriously that woman has provoked a telepathic wave of loathing amongst RSL fans here I'm sure. You were very restrained in your exchange of words.
I always enjoy all Roberts audio performances and would love to have been part of that audience, so thanks for sharing your experience it was almost as good as being there. Agree with you about the hair, love that it has a life of its own and also that he fidgets a lot.
Eeeeee, thanks for the write-up - I wish I could have been there! I also am a fan of thinner RSL with longer hair (and glasses of course), so thanks for including that critical information.
And damn, you restrained yourself admirably with that colleague as far as I'm concerned!
Ha,ha - I'd say it means your instincts about this woman were spot on :) It is funny how differently people see shows and characters. My nephew occasionally watches House very casually (and he does know I'm an insane fan girl although probably not the extent of it ;) and when he talks to me about it I have to resist the urge to correct his very wrong opinions :) Although he did say that Wilson & House riding off into the sunset at the end of the show was 'pretty gay' :)
That's interesting about RSL being fidgety. I wonder if Wilson's neck rubbing and various gestures came from that.

I'd imagine so. RSL seems to have a hard time talking without gesticulating (at least on stage).
I've seen plenty of online bashing of Wilson and other House characters, of course. But this was the first time I'd heard it in real life, so it was a bit odd!

Regarding the award winning short story. It sounds like the Stella Kupferberg Memorial Short Story Prize ( ... )

Ahhh -- looking at the program, you're right about the award title. I didn't know about the word count. Now it makes more sense!
Seriously, every time I see this woman now I'm going to think, "Wilson-hater." :D

I bet she frequents FFN.

I agree with your nephew on the finale :)
