Thanks much! It has brought me immense happiness to be making this step forward with him. Today we actually went to a jeweler's (someone my dad has done business with for years) and we ordered my ring! I'm psyched. Somehow that has made it seem even more real and wonderful.

We're thinking Sat., Aug. 9th of 2008, but it's not set for sure yet. Looking that way, though. So pencil it in!

Thanks for the congrats! Yes, good advice. We actually managed to pick a date already in early August and have our reception and ceremony cites booked. So far, the likely hotels by my parents' house close to the reception site are totally open, but good thought to block out some rooms early.
