so, the first east coast trip went well, although i wasn't able to make it everywhere i had planned (apparently, derrek's house in vermont is more than 200 miles from ANYTHING). saw my sister before she headed off to Japan for the next 9ish months. met her boyfriend (he passes inspection, he laughed at my jokes and non sequitur pop culture
