Detroit (pronounced: Day-twah) Special:
-$30 dollar sandwich from the 'revitalized up-town area'...that is promptly stolen by 3 hobos before you can eat it
-$5 for bottled water...crackhead steals that and bites you (check for diseases)
-$80 on gas so you can get the hell out

Re-name It the "Soft" Rock Cafe, Really... madshrubbery September 12 2003, 15:50:22 UTC
Louisville, Kentucky is getting an HRC, too.

The Rock has officially lost all cred once it goes to Louisville of all places. Fucking tourist trap. It's become the Rolling Stone of restaurants!

Dude, I live in the 'burbs of Detroit. People get killed out here too... everyone gives the city all of the gory. I mean, glory.

I grew up there (the burbs, mount clemens to be precise) and got my ass out as soon as I could (college) and only go back to visit the family that wants me to move back... West Michigan is much less bad than the D. But when you want to see decent concerts, you have to travel out there. And pay up the ass for everything downtown. I haven't been out that way to see the fam since the horrible Eminem concert. How are things out that way?

I live close to Mt. Clemens xgrace1882 September 14 2003, 17:34:30 UTC
Well, for some strange reason people are referring to Mt. Clemens as "The Clem" which both irritates and disturbs me. Mt. Clemens is considered "hip" and "trendy" and also they apparently have a prostitution problem in the less appealing part of town...

I have referred to it as The Clem, but always in a sarcastic way, and I hardly think of it as Hip or Trendy - I associate those words more with Royal Oak... I was unaware of the prostitution problem, but I *did* grow up practically down the street from 'The Traffic Light'. At least its a little 'hipper' than say, Armada, or Marine City (where I went to high school)... I'm still glad I'm out :o) Grand Rapids saved my going-to-be-ghetto life
