If we are only what we choose, why is what we choose to be so different from what we want to be?

Everything is choice.

We make bad decisions.

Also, the choices we make aren't always egocentric and/or towards our develop. We choose who we are in each individual action.

Sometimes, too, we just aren't paying that close attention.
