Just wanted to post to say that I sympathize. Based on what you've said, you have every reason to be upset. I hope things work out for you and your family.
Thanks. I'm trying to steer away from anger, because that's not who I am, but I can't pretend that I'm not hurt. It sucks when you realise your value as a person to other people is even less than you ever imagined.
I'm so sorry, this sounds awful. People are SO inconsiderate of others, I can't believe they only gave you four week's notice. I've had very similar experiences, a few years ago, my mum, dying of cancer and not only struggling with paying for treatment, but rent and bills on top of that, was notified that because she was sick, she'd have to move out in 4 weeks so that someone else could rent the place. I don't think I can explain how upset I was, but I feel your pain, I honestly do.
Aaaand as cheesy as this sounds, I sincerely hope things start picking up for you!
Aww man that sucks totally. Maybe the law is different in QLD, coz I think in NSW you need to give a bit more notice than that in such cases.
Here, maybe this Monty Python icon can make you feel a wee bit better.
As someone who has moved more times than I care to remember, I can understand the pain of moving, but I must say I've never been in a situation quite like that.
Can you defer uni for a while until you get all this sorted?
Geez, I just don't know what do say. I wish there was something I could do to help, I really do. Well, I can be here for you to rant to
( ... )
Well, after we found out and began house-hunting, we learned that, legally, you need 2 months notice, so hopefully that will help a bit. But we're trying to be amicable with the landlord, because the situation must be tough for him, so we're going to try and get out within a month. Doesn't look like it will be easy, though.
As for uni, I don't know that we will be able to get our money affairs in order for good. I may have to stop studying altogether. And even if we could, I'd rather not defer it, because I'm in my fourth year as it is and hope to finish next year. I don't want to be one of those people who doesn't graduate until they're 30-something.
But Monty Python is good for cheering up, so thanks :)
