Atlantis, Tuesday Fandom-Time

May 05, 2009 19:06

The IOA had sent word through Walter that it was time to go home. Ronon had moved quickly through his basement apartment, gathering the few things he might need - mainly his weapons - and headed out the door, making a couple important calls as he stalked down the street. He had only stopped for one awkward and necessary goodbye before catching his portal at the end of the causeway. It was one of those days where somehow there just wasn't enough time.

Within hours of his portal arrival in Colorado Springs, Ronon was beamed aboard the Daedalus and headed for the Pegasus Galaxy. A mere six hours had passed since he'd been sent to Fandom, but after Sheppard's experience with the time dilation field, no one at the SGC was surprised by Ronon's debriefing of his time in Fandom. Not that he'd offered up much else in the way of useful information.

The two weeks on the Daedalus listening to geeks complain about the lack of Jell-O in the mess were almost worth it when they pulled the puddlejumper bearing the Midway station survivors into the Daedalus F-302 bay and Ronon got to squeeze McKay till he complained and was able to flick Sheppard awake for the hyperspace ride back to Atlantis. It seemed someone had not dealt so well with two weeks cooped up with his geeks.

When a very pregnant Teyla was kidnapped while investigating a lead to help find her people and Kanaan on M2S-181, the team rallied to save her and her baby from the psychotic Wraith Michael, who they discovered had been planning to use Teyla's child to create creepy Wraith hybrid minions that could destroy the galaxy. Michael wasn't one to do anything halfway creepy. Everything was full on gross with that guy.

Every step they took trying to rescue Teyla was another of Michael's ploys to destroy the people of Atlantis who he blamed for creating his insane self so many years ago. But no explosion, pile of rubble, or distance through hyperspace could stop Team Sheppard from reclaiming Teyla and assisting her in birthing the infant. Yes, they were that awesome.

But then the team was back on Atlantis, safe and together for the time being and Ronon had time to realize he missed Fandom. Or at least a couple of the people there. Not that he was really saying much about it.

"Hey Chewie, mind letting me down here?" Sheppard requested, his voice going extra raspy at the way Ronon held him by the neck against the wall of the sparring room.

"Huh? Sorry," Ronon dropped Sheppard with an apologetic look. He'd lost himself for a moment there.

Sheppard rubbed his neck and cracked his aged back. "You look like something's on your mind."

Sometimes Ronon liked it better when Sheppard was being clueless. "Nope. I'm good."

"This about the whole weird time thing again? Or that creepy kid me? I could always pretend I'm eighteen again."

Ronon glowered at Sheppard for keeping up the conversation when he'd just tried ending it. "Back there, it's like that time you got stuck with the ancient monks," Ronon reminded him.

Sheppard made a face. "So why you still thinking about it?"

Okay, maybe Sheppard was still clueless as ever. Teyla had beat the info out of Ronon weeks ago, so Ronon rolled his eyes and tossed a towel at Sheppard's face. "Why do you get that look on your face whenever someone says we're going to Earth?"

Sheppard pulled the towel off his face and started snapping a finger at Ronon. "Hey! You told me about the kid me who was a cookie, and don't even get me started on how weird that was, but you didn't think to mention you got married?" The look on his face screamed How dare you leave me out of the loop.

"I didn't get married, I met a woman," Ronon shrugged, heading for the doorway. Stupid time trouble probably meant he'd been gone for years of Fandom time. Not that he could call from Pegasus to find out. "There's nothing to tell."

Sheppard followed, smacking at Ronon's arm with the back of his hand. "Yeah, but she's the first since--"

"Yup," Ronon agreed quickly, not wanting to go there, thanks.

"So you were--"

"Uh huh." Some things never changed.

"Huh." Sheppard scratched his chin and it was obvious to Ronon his friend was getting ideas Ronon wasn't going to like. "And was there..?"

"Yes."

"That mean next time we're on Earth...?"

"No."

"Come on! The time thing can't be that--"

"No." Ronon wasn't sure if he remembered Sheppard's whine being so weak in detention. Must be an age thing.

"Was she an ancient?"

"No."

"A warrior?"

"No."

"Give me something here!"

"No."
