Made in Photoshop CS but translatable (using only color fill layers and hue/saturation)
No Curves, Selective color or Color balance
Including PSD
Now there are many tutorials for caps made with selective color and curves, but i tried to get same effects using color fill layers(a lot of layers actually)
0) Open yor image. Duplicate your base and set to Screen, repeat this step if necessery(for example i nave 2 Screen Layers). Sharpen last Screen layer if you want to make your icon look more clear(but be careful, because you know what happens when you use Sharpen too much)
Color fill layers:
1) #170200(dark red) set to Exclusion 75%
2) #ede156(yellow) set to Soft light, change opacity depending on your image(for this icon i use 12%)
3) #2e2400(dark yellow) set to Exclusion 54%
4) #efa77b(light orange) set to Color burn 39%
5) #02004e(dark blue) set to Color dodge 75%
6) #0586d0(blue/cyan) set to Color dodge 9%
7) #deb832(yellow/orange) set to Color burn 21%
8) #020625(dark blue) set to Color dodge 100%
9) #213949(dark cyan) set to Soft light 54%
10) #02004e(dark blue) set to Difference 30%
11) #82bf0c(green) set to Exclusion 12%
12) Hue/Saturation(finally):
change only Saturation
Master +36
Red +9
Cyan +12
Change Hue only in Master: -21(you can skip this step or change settings but i prefer doing this)
Set this Layer to Soft light 36%.
Finish!!!
That was awfully long!!! Really, it's much easier to use Curves. But however this tutorial suits for a big amount of bases unlike Curves/Selective color's tutorials.
