Made in Photoshop CS3, translatable i think, using Curves and Color fill layers
Including PSD

[0] Open yor image and etc. This tutorial mostly for a bit blueish bases but changing opacity of the color ill layers it can suit more redish/yellowish bases and, of course, you can always use Variations to adjust a base for the tutorial.

[1] Now we need to lighten up base. Create Curves layer with this Settings

RGB
Point one: 108/211

These settings are for a rather dark image so decrease opacity of the layer if it's necessary

[2] Color fill layer #1

#535206, set to Exclusion, for bluish base - 36-45% opacity, for more redish/yellowish - 18-27%

[3] Color fill layer #2

#c2cd4b, set to Soft layer, opacity depending on base - 21-54%

[4] Color fill layer #3

#c56917, set to Color Burn 12%, of course here you can also change opacity but i prefer this one

[5] Curves

RGB
Point one: I: 45, O: 0(move lower left point)
Point two: I: 148, O: 148
Point three: I: 204, O: 202

[6] Duplicate previous Curves layer

In RGB remain the settings same

In Green and Blue move upper right points
Green: I: 247, O: 255
Blue: I: 231, O: 255

Set this layer to Normal, change opacity as you like

The end!!!
