So Rishi was sharing headcanons and he informed me that when Mamoru is tipsy he does impressions of Kunzite. Which then carried over to RP and this thing happened.
Title: Inappropriate.
Rating: Swearing -- that is a rating.
Who: Mamoru, Mina, Jamie, Zoe, and Kristoff.
Mamoru's apartment, an indiscernible point of time in the future.
Mamoru spent years alone, and had been quite lonely for it. Now, though, he had friends - family - and a wonderful girlfriend. He was never lonely.
In fact, sometimes it was a little jarring. And he would seek refuge to study, or to just collect his thoughts. He had intended for the to be one of those. Unity was spending the day with Molly, and would later was going for a study session with Amy.
That gave Mamoru an afternoon and evening to catch up on his schoolwork, without distraction. That was until Jamie and Zoe showed up without invitation. As they were wont to do.
They had brought snacks and beer and had cajoled him into watching movies with them. It wasn't all bad, though his homework would suffer.
They were through the second installment of Back to the Future when there came a knock on Mamoru's door. He barely started to stand up with Zoe placed a hand on his shoulder and shoved him back against the couch cushions.
“COME IN!” she bellowed and the door swung open.
Mina all but slammed the door shut and stomped inside, her golden heels stabbing into the carpet. She sat down her purse and a brown bag on the floor and shrugged out of her coat.
“Mina?” Mamoru arched an eyebrow.
“We've been texting,” Zoe supplied.
“When?”
The blonde looked at him incredulously. “The entire time. Pay attention, Mamoru!”
Finally untangling herself from her coat, Mina whirled around on the others. “I'm sorry to barge in, but I'm furious and I know you three will at least partially understand why!” She stamped her foot for good measure.
“It's alright, hun, just let it out.” Zoe spoke in palacting tones, but there was a certain glint in her green eyes that Mamoru didn't trust.
“I was on a dinner date with Kristoff, everything was wonderful. Until he walked me to my door and kissed my cheek! My bloody cheek!” She pointed at her face for emphasis. “Do you know why he only kissed my cheek?”
The three on the couch remained silent for a single heartbeat and then Mina sucked in a breath and puffed out her chest, lowering her voice as much as she could. “Because anything else would be improper, Mina.”
“We're here for you,” Jamie said solemnly, though he looked like he was trying not to laugh. “Let it all out.”
“I mean look at Mamoru!” Mina waved a hand and started pacing in front of the TV. “You're shy and reserved and proper, yet you'll still kiss your girlfriend! Shag her too, but that is neither here nor there!”
“Ew.” Jamie shuddered.
“But Kristoff? All he can do is old open doors and kiss my cheek! A girl needs more than that! A girl needs a snog!” Mina marched over to her bag and plucked the bag from the floor. “In the meantime I wish to console myself with wine, and the fact that you lot understand my boyfriend is an idiot who is overly concerned with propriety.”
“Eighteenth century propriety,” Zoe said.
“Well, hey, by those standards he's practically a libertine. I mean, escorting the young miss without a chaperone? Very uncouth.” Jamie shook his head and took a swig of his beer.
Mamoru shook his head and turned his attention to Mina. “Here, let me open the bottle for you.”
* * *
It was several hours later and several drinks later, when they were all strewn about Mamoru's living room.
“You know though, Kristoff has loads of things he thinks are inappropriate, so you really shouldn't take it to heart Mina. He's just a stodgy bastard.”
“That doesn't help, Jamie. I recall you were rather chaste as well, all things considered. So maybe it is me!? Maybe I'm cursed!?”
“Jamie is an idiot, you can't go by him.” Zoe wrinkled her nose. “He does have a point about Kristoff though, being stodgy I mean.”
“He doesn't approve of anything. You'll ask him, 'Hey, Kristoff, do you think you could get me a bag of Doritos while you're at the store?” Jamie cleared his throat before continuing on in a voice that resembled the Swedish Chef from the Muppets rather than Kristoff. "Doritos are not an appropriate snack for future guardians of the Earth."
Mamoru snickered and saw one of Unity's magazines kicked under the couch. An idea struck and he sat up, looking at the group somberly. “It is not appropriate to wear white shoes after Labor Day,” he said in a soft lilting manner, voice low.
Mina started giggling helplessly and Zoe nearly fell off her perch on the back of the couch. Jamie choked on his beer.
“That was amazing!” he cried. “Do it again! Do it again!”
“When did you get so good at impersonating him?” Zoe righted herself on the couch. “Oh Fearless Leader, should I get Amy's measurements tattooed on my ass?”
Mamoru frowned deeply. “It is hardly appropriate for a guardian of earth to cover their bodies with such lewd markings.”
“Jesus! This is creepy. You even have The Look down.” Jamie tried to screw up his face in a serious manner but dissolved into laughter.
They continued on for a long time, drinking and laughing. Mamoru's impression carried on the entire time, as he denounced various things, the more absurd, the better. Eventually though, everyone was too drunk and too tired for any further shenanigans, and fell asleep where they were.
Mina and Zoe were cuddled on the couch, Jamie was on the floor, a throw pillow shoved under his head, and Mamoru was in the armchair, feet propped on the coffee table.
No one stirred for hours, the sun rising and streaming in through the blinds they had accidentally left open. Even then, no one moved. There a came a knock on the door a short while later, Jamie grunted a few choice words and rolled over, but that was the only movement from the group.
Another knock. Another pause. Then a key fitted into the lock.
A frown firmly fixed, Kristoff's head appeared as he ducked inside the apartment, shutting the door carefully behind him. His frown deepened when he saw the state of the inhabitants, but the look turned to confusion at finding Mina among them.
He stepped over Jamie's prone form, ready to awaken Mamoru first - he was the reason he was there, after all, they were supposed to go running. The movement within the apartment was finally enough to cause everyone to stir, and they all blinked blearily at the morning light.
Kristoff stopped before Mamoru and prodded his shoulder gently. Mamoru yawned and cracked open one eye to see his friend looking rather displeased, one eyebrow quirked and his arms crossed.
He looked ready to chastise them all, but before Kristoff could even take a breath Zoe and Jamie cried out in unison.
“Mamoru, this is not appropriate.”
Everyone roared with laughter. Kristoff sighed in resignation.
