I couldnt believe the news when I heard it this morning.... that Nate was gone. He and I were close in high school, and although we lost contact over the years, I never forgot about him. I always wondered how he was, and would hear snippets about him through friends..... I never would have expected this though. My love and prayers are with you and all of his family and I just wish there was something I maybe could have done for him.... Im sure everyone wishes that. Rest In Peace, buddy.

My name is Derrick and I knew Nate from school and friends we both knew. He and I never hung out all that much, but when we saw each other in passing he always said hi and had such a friendly demeanor. To hear about his suicide is both sad and shocking and I send my condolences to all who knew and loved him. I too have struggled with drug addiction for years, and i know first hand the depression and sense of hopelessness that can be associated with it. I am clean now and I work at staying that way each and every day. I just want you to know that a tragedy like this can make people such as myself look at life in a whole new light, and while the death of someone so young and bright can never be justified or understood, i also believe that it doesn't have to be in vain.
