[reaction post] doctor who 6.04: the doctor's wife

• this was so Neil Gaiman. Everything. Just so him. Even if I hadn't known he wrote it, I could probably guess.
  
• Gaiman basically channeled Delirium for the Tardis.
  
• and I wonder if the password - Delight - was sort of a tiny tip of the hat to his Sandman series.
  
• and now I have a hilarious plot bunny of where Delirium is the Tardis gone crazy, or whatever the Tardis-equivalent is. TARDIS IS DELIGHT.
  
• I love how Amy's vision of "Delight" was her wedding. I'm just a huge Amy/Rory shipper, okay.
  
• Rory has died three out of four episodes. There better be a reason beyond LOLZ FUNSIE.
  
• And on that note, I hope this trend of Amy experiencing helplessness in regards to Rory actually has a point because, by itself, the writing is... I don't know, I find it very distasteful in this treatment (something similar to "Amy's useless without her man", but not quite. Can't find the words). So I hope that it's supposed to show some sort of inner pain that Amy feels - possibly leftover trauma from seeing Rory die in S1.
  
• Also, the third iteration of Amy's hallucination of Rory (HATE KILL AMY) reminds me of the first issue of Sandman, in the diner.
  
• "Do you ever wonder why I chose you all those years ago?"
  
  "I chose you. You were unlocked."
  
  "Of course I was. I wanted to see the universe, so I stole a Time Lord, and I ran away. You were the only one mad enough."

  "I borrowed you."
  
  "Borrowing implies the eventual intention to return the thing that was taken. What makes you think that I'd ever give you back?"

  "I always took you where you needed to go."

• The Tardis mourning her sisters made my heart ache.
  
• Matt Smith does old so very, very well. And him trying not to cry when the Tardis leaves? ;alskdjf;asldkjf
  
• RIVER SHOUT OUT. River/Doctor/Tardis forever, okay.

and these are my immediate thoughts.
