My livejournal account has not been deleted. I'm still here, I've just been busy lately, I guess.
I don't know how many of you have read Life After God by Douglas Coupland but I'm really starting to understand his conclusion. I feel like something is missing in my life and I think that it's religion. I just want to feel like I'm being hugged when I ( Read more... )

i am going to lend you a book this summer that will fill your life and change it too. god wrote it and its just brilliant. he'll tell you he loves you and you'll feel comfort. its called conversations with god: an uncommon dialogue. its a 3 part series. i am reading part 2 now but its not mine. i only own book one. but book one will help you anyways. gosh i am so excited that you are interested in discovering all of this! really when you read this book you will want everyone you know to read it too so they can feel how you feel. this book made me cry about a thousand times out of shock because every once in a while you'll read a line and understand that it was put there simply to help you and only you. its incredible i cant even really describe it. my mom is supposed to read it in may but i'll lend it to you after! i want janine and amy to read it too.

hey margs, i read a little up on cWg. i was confused, did this guy name the thing he felt inside "god" or was he talking about the you know, judeo/christian God? i read the first couple pages off amazon and it kinda scared me a little. letta me knowa, i havent read the whole book so i dont know (maybe i'll read a tad more in barns and knobles, though the website super creeped me out).

its definetly about the one and only god. i dont know if you would agree with everything in it because its fairly anti-organized religion BUT it is very pro god and pro love and positivity and happiness and such. and like even if you dont agree with everything it says there is still so much good you can get out of the book. like take it for what its worth you know? its so interesting.

i had it, i lost it, i'm happier without it, but i do think religion is very much an amazing thing. you should join my book-club claire! so far it is just me who is in it... BUT the goal is to read all the holy texts (well the major ones as i decide) in 2.5 years. i already have ONE DONE! (Tao Te Ching)

WE CAN LEARN ABOUT RELIGION TOGETHER. then maybe, once we have accumulated ALL this knowledge we can make our own SUPER religion and start destroying the otherones!!!

lazers will be needed.
