Wednesday:
Brad ended up calling and we went out to BP. We had a couple of drinks there and I warned him that he shouldn't drink too much since he was my driver. He laughed and brushed it off and was like, we're going to another bar. When I protested, I also suggested that I like going for drives. So we went for a drive...to an LCBO. *sigh* he asked me if I wanted anything and I said no, but he ended up bringing back some beer anyway and then asked if I'd have a drink w/him, so I said no. He was like, it's okay...we'll be driving back on backroads. Oh yes...did I mention he meant he wanted to drink and drive...well, drink WHILE driving, rather. I got a little peeved and told him he was an idiot and shouldn't be driving w/me while he's drinking because I don't take my safety in a vehicle lightly...which also includes texting (which he was also doing...). He thought I was joking for a good while until he realized I was really huffy. He didn't end up drinking the beer, which I appreciated. but I swear I'm going to die here!
Friday:
Went back to Toronto for Thanksgiving! Got home around midday and hung out w/my maman. We got Thanksgiving groceries. I took the rest of the day easy.
My mum and dad were heading out for a dinner party in the evening, so I spent some time w/them and another couple while they had a drink or two before heading off.
Later in the evening I met up with my sister Lindsay's boyfriend Dunbar at Grace O'Malley's for a bunch of drinks and to watch the Sens game. I was quite tipsy upon leaving. My sister picked us up. She'd been at a concert with her friend.
Saturday:
So I went out with my sister, D-bar and my friend Moffat. Moffat is trying to get a more sophisticated look so I employed Linds to help find him some nice clothes. He got some really nice items. I approve! It was a tiring few hours though. We all went to lunch afterwards at the three brewers. It was yummy.
We came home and relaxed a bit before helping out with some food prep. I helped out with making a lemon sponge pie with my dad. It turned out beeeeautifully!
Sunday:
THANKSGIVING! I love thanksgiving...the food is awesome and the get togethers are fun! So we were having 10 people to dinner, so there was lots of work to do, but luckily we'd done a lot the night before. In the morning I helped out with peeling some veggies and cutting them up.
Then we all went out to take some photos to commemorate 10/10/10 at 10:10. Lame, but it was fun. Then the fam went to breakfast at Frans (amaaazing!) and I went out with my friend Jonny to do some Halloween costume shopping. I've decided to go with vampire because it's really easy. So all I ended up buying was some fangs and that jewellery that you wear on your fingers that a vamp would use to scratch the skin to get to the blood...you know what I mean. Anyway, Jonny and I had fun looking at all the costumes and then we went for lunch at Lick's (BEST BURGERS OF LIIIIFE!...cept maybe one other place)
Thanksgiving dinner was a lot of fun! There was lots of conversation going around. My cousin Kevin and another family joined my family for dinner. Only two of the kids from the other family were there: Alan and Graham. I've known them forever...i.e. since they were each born. They are such fantastic gay boys! I heart them. I also am really imspired by how open they both are. It makes me really happy to see people living the way they want and be who they are. I have to say that I think it's lucky that they both grew up here in toronto since it is such an accepting city, and it's hopefully helped them both grow! Anyhoo, it was a blast and we all went for a walk and Dunbar took many photos throughout the night.
Tuesday:
So my boss is away in Bermuda this week and the other guy we share the office with is away too, so I'm all alone in the office...which is awesome. I'm working on organizing all the files in the filing cabinet right now. I've finally come up with a working filing code system for all of them! I'm really excited. so I did about 1/10th of the files today along w/figuring out the system! So if I keep up this rate I'll be done in no time! I really hope that my boss thinks it's alright...because it'd really kill me if I had to change it all
I missed Glee tonight and Lie to me and Hawaii 5-0 last night! So sad...I don't know when I'll get to watch them since my internet is such junk here. I'll try to stream something again later on, but all did not go well last time I tried (the page wouldn't even load let alone a video...)
SUMMARY
-people that drink and drive are stupid. people that drink WHILE driving are pieces of shit. I'm going to get killed living out here!
-home for Thanksgiving this weekend. Started off the weekend at Grace O'Malley's pub with Dunbar
-Went shopping w/Dunbar, Lindsay and Moffat since Moffat wanted a new wardrobe and a couple of female consultants
-Went Halloween Costume shopping w/Jonny...came home with some props for being a vampire
-Thanksgiving dinner! We had one of my sisters, her bf, one of my cousins, another family of 4, me, my mom and dad...the food was FANTASTIC with a spread of stuffing, turkey (real and fake), mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, beets, green beens, pumpkin pie and lemon sponge pie
-My contribution to Thanksgiving dinner was a lemon sponge pie and cutting and peeling vegetables and drying all the dishes from the 10 person 4 course meal + 3 drink courses as well as putting away all the food that was left over
-the two sons of the visiting family are both gay and I find a total inspiration because they're so open and proud...it makes me so happy to see people able to embrace who they are. WEAR PURPLE ON OCT 20th IN REMEMBERENCE OF BOYS WHO HAVE COMMITTED SUICIDE FROM GAY ABUSE!
-Had a successful day at work today: figured out my filing codes and started to sort the files into the system! Here's hoping my boss approves or I might just die...
Off to drink a beer and then go to bed! Aaaah...good times. *muah*
