This is all kinds of confusing.
I've been volunteering with the WAP for about six months now. Basically, I transcribe images of records into databases so that Ancestry.com users can search for family members. Sometimes I come across some really. weird. shit.
I came across this record:
What the hell is going on here? He's 73 and she's 47 - I thought that was kind of odd in and of itself because this was in 1912, but whatever.
Now, LOOK AT THEIR MOTHERS. Seriously. How many Catharine Schroeders were running around? And, admittedly, they were born in very different states but their wedding took place in Ohio so he had to get there sometime - MAYBE WITH HIS MOM?! It's entirely possible that he was born when she was young and then she remarried and had another child twenty-six years later. But would they have been allowed to marry? I think half-siblings getting hitched has pretty much ALWAYS been frowned upon...

EDIT: Also, her married name is Tena Knapp (deceased). Is she dead?! Did he kill her? wtf...
