First, all I can say is be glad you even have those "fuzzy memories". You know they're there, you may not be able to discern them clearly, but they are there.. even if hidden in the back of your mind. Be glad that you don't have to be told everything that happened to you in the first 12 years of your life. Stating these things is probably what leads me to what shaped me... and it would probably be my lack of a memory and my lack of time.

I am grateful for those memories from my youth that I have, but there's still a disconnect there. There are plenty of times that I could have died that I didn't... but not to the extent of what you went through. One thing I made a few serious mistakes is that you're not who you were but who you are. I know what a lack of time is like tho

I know how the constant moving can make life disjointed... I'm enjoying stability right now; never really known it before. I dread the thought that if I linger in AZ a year or so more and don't end up going back to school, that it'd be time to move back east for a DC job search. Partly my mind just starts thinking about moving when 3 years comes around.

FWIW you would have fit in well in the triangle of Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill... big indie scene out there and a good deal of nice intellectuals; very chill place. I wish I'd lived in Chapel Hill instead of Raleigh; Raleigh's kinda the blue collar town of the area, where as chapel hill has a little more culture. Plus, I never once went to a wine and cheese party :`(
