If there's one thing I've learnt following the media, and as an apiring journalist/reporter myself, is that there's always more to a story than meets the eye. It definitely wasn't a random killing, but I'm not drawing any conclusions till I know more about it. And I'm definitely keeping my ear to the ground.
I didn't know her well either. Just by reputation, because anyone transferring into this school gets a bit of attention, especially when they're as pretty and mysterious as she was. Maybe we'll never know, but I do plan to do some sleuthing.
For someone as pretty as she - your observation, not mine - you're quite right, we know very little about her. Normally information spreads, whether one wants it or not. Ironic that those truly interesting are those who remain in the shadows.
I must admit I'm surprised. I don't want to say 'she always seemed like the quiet type' because that's why they always say on television shows. But I think Merry's right: All I've heard so far is school gossip. I don't base opinions on gossip so I won't draw any about Helena Doyle. It's not my place.
