As some of you will know, Alice had a bit of a rough time of it a little while ago, so we took off on a jaunt around the continent to get back on our feet. We have since returned, and I now will illuminate you on some of the goings-on of said journey.
Lesson the first: be willing to take your own pictures, even if they're of yourself. Even if it means taking photos of yourself, rather than the perfectly good cathedral in the background.
Lesson the second: be willing to cook for yourself. Even if it means cooking on a barbecue outside a bus.
Lesson the third: the water is always cold.
Lesson the fourth: don't mess with the baby elephant. You'll get its back up.
Lesson the fifth: Anne Frank was taller and blacker than you.
Lesson the sixth: back home, the Thames should require no explanation.
Lesson the seventh: if you do need it explained, this is the look you will get.
Lesson the eighth: yes, I do buy flowers. No, this photo did not have my blessing.
Lesson the ninth: that's more like it.
