Just don't hide under a rock. If you report to her, then you and she have your mutual success locked together. She needs you to get your stuff done right, and you need her to to support you doing it. The only way to do that is to make sure you understand everything she wants, and she understands everything you need to achieve that.
If she's savvy at all (and she may not be if she's a new manager) she'll understand this and understand that business is just business.
Make sure she's not surprised as issues arise and I think you'll do fine. If she starts being unreasonable, it might be that she's a n00b and isn't handling the transition well. A thick skin on your part will go far toward buffering any problems.
And while I think you'll be fine, having a fresh coat of paint on your "end of the world" plan is a good idea, just in case.
The F stands for "Flexible"...I remember my managers telling me that when I started there. I guess a last second manager change qualifies. Anyway, just be the Satyr we all love and you will be fine. You know what you're doing and have a good grasp on it. Show her that. Miss you P.S. There is an air bed with your name on it when you take your road trip.
