If the Bible is the word of God, then why is it written in third-person omniscient?

If I were God, I would have written my holy doctrine in first-person omnipotent.

Because it's the word of God as told to the world by his chosen scribes. The Christian God could not write his holy doctrine in first-person omnipotent because he must remain mysterious and separate from the material world...that's how the whole faith thing works.
