THat was an very interesting take on a pairing that is normally poorly done. That was very ... dark without being dark for dark's sake. I love the take on Itachi. I especially like dthe view on what Kisame and Sasuke both were to Itachi. Very well written.

I think Itachi and Kisame as individuals are very difficult to write (especially Itachi, who I've found most of the time isn't in character) and so when people try to pair them up, a lot of times one of them falls flat. Honestly, I feel like if I'd made this fic any longer the same thing would have happened. I really wanted to try my hand at a longer fic with them, but Itachi wouldn't cooperate :D
